The firm
Small on purpose
Twelve lawyers, four practice areas and one standard: prepare every matter as if it will be tried.

History
Two lawyers, one conference table
Eleanor Harlow left the U.S. Attorney's Office in 2009 with a belief that private clients deserved the same rigour she had brought to federal prosecutions. Marcus Vance, then a senior associate at a downtown firm, had been watching executives sign away millions because nobody had read their equity agreements properly. They opened a two-room office on Newbury Street that autumn.
The firm moved to Commonwealth Avenue in 2015 and has grown slowly since, by choice. We hire lawyers who want to be in court, and we cap each partner's caseload so that clients always have their attention.
Today we represent clients across Massachusetts and New England, from senior executives and frontline employees to founder-led companies in disputes with investors, partners and competitors.
The size of the firm is a decision, not an accident. It is how we keep our promises.
