Our story
It started with a 40-tab spreadsheet
In 2021, Dana Whitfield was VP Finance at a Series C company where three teams reported three different MRR numbers to the same board. The fix was a spreadsheet that took eleven days a month to maintain and nobody fully trusted.
She and Theo Marsh, then leading data at a payments startup, built the first version of Fluxboard in a shared flat in Mission Bay. It did one thing: turn raw Stripe events into an MRR movement table finance could audit.
Today Fluxboard tracks more than $2.4 billion in recurring revenue for 1,400 companies, from seed-stage teams on their first board deck to public companies with multi-entity billing. The principle has not changed: every number should click through to the invoice behind it.
If a number cannot be traced to a source, it is an opinion, not a metric.
